FTW Derrity Thor (Monty)
Born January 2014 Sire DK FTCH Jobeshill Olof Dam FTW Derrity Rose Awards A wonderful dog, was a joy to train and run in competitions. He began competing in 2015 winning his first novice working test at URC North Midlands. Monty ran at Leicestershire Gundogs Novice Trial in January 2017. He was tested throughout the trial, especially on a bird he was sent for in the middle of a drive. We came away with a 1st making him a Field Trial Winner. Monty's consistency was rewarded in 2017 taking the URC Monty Carter Trophy from his mother Derrity Rose, he went on to win two open cold game tests in 2018. The 2018 trialling season began with an All Aged at Yorkshire Field Trial Society, a testing ground of Bracken, sedge grasses and big wire fences. Monty took the fences in his stride and came 1st! Monty has retired from competing now after winning numerous test and trial awards. |

Rose had so many awards in both tests and trials, she's was a very consistent competitor who was willing to please. Rose's consistency was rewarded in 2016 with the URC Monty Carter Trophy.
Her trialling career started in 2012 gaining a 2nd in her first Novice field trial. She went on to gain many award in Novice trials before winning the Dukeries Novice, 4 of the 5 retrieves she completed that day were single or double eyewipes.
Rose's first success in an Open Field Trial came in 2014. After running a good trial Rose gained 3rd place at Shropshire Gundogs one day. She also ran in a number of 24 Dog Open Qualifier Stakes, at The Yellow Labrador Club she completed some great work showing real heart and drive, she came away with a well deserved 3rd. Sadly Rose is no longer with us but she will always be fondly remembered.

The first field trial I won was with Griff at Dove Valley Working Gundog Club's Novice Stake in 2002. Griff and I went on to qualify for the IGL Retriever Championship in 2004 after winning Yorkshire Gundogs two day Open Stake.
He was a wonderful dog, although he had his quirks including a dislike of most men being quite shy and easily suppressed by voice. We learnt a lot together over the years, sadly he is no longer with us but Griff did make it to the grand old age of 16.
